The short answer is the staff on here don't know either.
Negotiations with broadcasters take place behind closed doors & you will only know you are getting new channels when they suddenly appear.
Staff will only give you the usual scripted answer "we are always reviewing our packages" etc.
Bear in mind that Freesports has "bought" space on the other platforms it appears on. Sky & Freesat do not "decide" to carry free channels as the transaction is direct with the satellite owners/operators in Belgium. Their only involvement is a nominal fee for allocating an EPG number. Freeview is set up in the same way as satellite, with Freesports buying spare space on a multiplex. All the "hybird" providers like BT & TalkTalk piggyback on a Freeview reciever. If you aerial does not pick up Freesports these pay providers will not offer it down the phone line instead.
Virgin is a closed system, so all of us are paying for EVERY channel we recieve, whether its on the lowest Player TV pack or not, as the channels have to be pumped through several thousand miles of cabling & 50+ cable headends to get to all of us. The more channels carried the more the price increases.
Talking Pictures TV took a while to appear on Virgin & I expect Freesports will be the same.
