Funnily enough if I wanted Freeview channels only then I would use Freeview, nice and simple.
As it is I want channels that are not available on Freeview so I use a Pay TV provider, also nice and simple.

KIC TV & TPTV are not broadcast in HD, but are using an HD enabled (MPEG4) mux so require a Freeview HD receiver if you are using Freeview. I get these channels via Freesat, which I got installed a couple of years ago at a one-off cost of £100 for the dish & box. With that & Virgin for the subscription channels, I have all I want.
There are around 10 -15 FTA channels on satellite that are not on Virgin, plus all the BBC/ITV regional variations (in the region of 50 channels). Dont expect to be seeing many of these on VM's basic packs, & you will never see all the regional channels.

Facing the sea not a lot of signals, anyway if virgin can supply a Welsh speaking channel I'm sure there are a lot more film buffs than Welsh speakers, although I bet Frank will prove me wrong😂
You mean film buffs like me who want channels, e.g. Sky Movies, and pay for them.
TP can either prove they have sufficient customers to be on a package that will provide them with an income, from our subscriptions, pay a fee to come on as a basic channel, which they have to do for Freeview/Freesat (as has already been explained to you) or become a pay channel like Sky movies. It is simple enough, it is their choice.
Personally I prefer not to subsidise them via my subscriptions.
What have you got against the Welsh? Isn't that a public service channel?
Re: Will virgin EVER get talking pictures?
How about a public service channels for pensioners?
P.S.are you sure you don't work for V. M. Or do you just have shares😆

Re: ON DEMAND NOT WORKING AGAIN!
On Demand and it's went off again! The number coming up is 401 and as has happened other weeks it's only Coronation Street that is affected. I've always recorded it on a Friday because I don't get home till after it's finished and I used to watch it while having dinner but it hasn't worked for weeks now.
This was actually the first Friday in weeks that I'd been able to even get it to come on and it cuts off 2 thirds of the way through.
Other programmes I've recorded seem to be fine😕

Re: Error 319
An engineer visited my address on the 24th April and checked my landline. He assured me that it was an external problem - something to do with lack of capacity at the exchange. I didn't really understand his explanation but he told me that it would be fixed. It still hasn't been resolved.
on demand unavailable

Re: Purple screen
Thanks for getting back to me.
I can see that you spoke to one of the team previously so were you able to check if there were any firmware updates on your smart TV?
There is a known issue with the V6 displaying a green screen but this should only be happening if 1080i is enabled.
Is it still a green screen for Netflix and a black screen for YouTube?
I'll look into this to see if there's another work around until a firmware update has been released.
Thank you for your patience so far.
Re: Bauhn TV 40" - code for Virgin remotes !!!
Hi, I too have a Bauhn and have repeatedly tried to rest remote and was delighted to see suggested codes but no way can I impute these codes as it keeps sending me to the spell out option or the automatic one. Any advice as my partner has Alzheimer's and two remotes are confusing her. Thank you
