Hello, thanks for your response. I do have a second box but rarely record on it. The fault I have been experiencing relates to the box on which my recording was made (as opposed to viewing a show recorded on my second box).
Re: Loss of sound after pause on v6, also after fast-forward
Goodbye Virgin?
I was told my bundle contract had come to an end and decided to call up and see what they would offer me. I've been with Virgin for years and figured that they would be able to offer me something. The person I spoke to was very rude and didn't seem to understand what I was saying. Eventually, they offered me 100 for my broadband, weekends and 100-odd channels for £61. I'm paying £68 for 200, 230+ weekends and movie channels. I asked to remove the movie channels and was told that it would be £66, while keeping my 200mb. But then she said I would only lose some HD channels. When I tried to confirm, she said I would lose all HD channels, plus ITV4, Sky One etc. In the end, I would lose over half my channels CMS only pay £2 less! This is a complete joke. I'm looking for other ISPs. I'm honestly disgusted with the way it was handled and the way I was spoken to.

Hi DavFB,
Thank you for your post. I'm sorry to hear you feel this way.
Can you expand on what has happened?

How can an increase of 42 to 66 mid contract be justified?
I signed up to virgin almost 12 months ago as there were no other fibre providers in my area. I now find out that my basic fibre + tv package is going up from £42 a month to £66.50. My contract is for 24 months, and I'm not sure I can actually afford to pay that for another 12 months. The package is basic so I cannot downgrade without cancelling and therefore incurring cancellation charges.
I am at a loss as to what I can do.
Re: How can an increase of 42 to 66 mid contract be justified?
Are you sure your contract runs for 24 months ? A VM contract normally runs for 12 months you might want to check the contract you should have received when you first became a customer. Also given the fact that your cost has increased it sounds like your possibly on a 12 month contract and it has run it’s course after you check your contract call 150 from VM landline choose options 1 1 4 5 that will take you through to retentions they can check what offers maybe available to you. They open at 8 am call early as possible to avoid long call wait time.
Re: Goodbye Virgin?
The pricing model they use does not make a lot of sense at times and contract renewals seems to depend on who you get on the other side of the phone. There have been quite a few people on here in recent weeks complaining about the same problem. Only way you can win here is to simply give 30 days notice and take your business elsewhere the only down side is at the moment you will not get 200 from any other UK isp so if you can live without that BB speed you can use Uswitch web site to give you an idea of what is available from the other companies.

Re: Error code ES071
Thank you for the update, could we confirm if this is happening on all movies or just movies from the Virgin Media Store? As they have their own separate customer service contact which will include their own error code details which we may not have on our systems, explaining as to why we're unable to locate this specific error code.
Are you having any other issues with the broadband as this does require a broadband connection to download and stream the films in question?
If this is just the Virgin Media Store issue then you can contact their team on 0800 027 0801 between 9am-9pm.
Thank you, Emily.

Re: Picture dropout Black Screen with new V6 box & Samsung TV
Hi Martin
If you'll please scroll back through the seven pages of people complaining about black lines appearing all over their TV screens once they hook up the V6 box, you will see I was one of those afflicted. Like several people on this forum, I had my time wasted by engineers coming out who could do nothing but tell me they did not think much of the V6 box. I tried all the suggestions about buying new HDMI cables (wasting time and money) and limiting my TV's abilities. None of it worked. As you will read from previous posts, I was eventually forced to send back the V6 box and obtain the previous TIVO box instead. That worked but limits my viewing as the hard drive is smaller and the 4K options are not there.
If you'll please read through you will see people's problems with the wretched V6 box have continued for around two years with no sign of Virgin doing anything to actually fix the problem by supplying an updated V6 or a successor that can work with SAMSUNG, etc. and can cope with high definition.

408 is Sky Cinema Comedy HD, which is a different channel to the new Sky Comedy channel.
Re: Loss of sound after pause on v6, also after fast-forward
Sound is lost after fast forwarding a recorded programme also after pausing a live programme.
