The engineer left me his contact number and kept promising to return again and again.

They installed one box but haven't returned to install the second. Nearly a fortnight now. I'm still paying for the box etc. The worst thing is, they were installing in my street today. Would've taken them 30 mins max to connect the box for me.

The engineer can't do that. He will not return unless his employer (Virgin) gives him an appointment for 2 reasons.
1) He will have other appointments in the day and no free time
2) De would not be insured if the job isn't though VM.

Call CS and get an engineer booked in to install a new cable and finish the work

The engineer shouldn't of left you his number

Sky Sports Cricket Highlights

What is going on with Sky Sports cricket highlights? Set recording for highlights and you get 20 minutes of the debate and then the highlights finish 20 minutes early?

Sky sports cuts out randomly

Hi all

just lately probably the last week or so when watching live sky sports (always watch the football) the picture and sound randomly cuts out for a few seconds with the screen going black and then returns. Can happen every day 30 seconds but also can be very 5 minutes. Have tried a rest and still the same. Any ideas? Seems ok on all other channels.

I'm going to guess that Sky changed their broadcast schedule at short notice and your TiVo recorded as per the existing schedule.

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing these issues.  Now you have made the recommended adjustments, do you find this is mainly happening with On Demand content? 

 

Can you also confirm if the V6 is connected via an ethernet cable or wireless?

Indeed, Sky sports cricket was running at least 15 minutes behind schedule today.

Always an issue with live sports channels.

I've been a customer for over 20 years and I've yet to understand why there is no loyalty discounts for existing customers, yet prospective customers are continually incentivised. My latest bill is £132 for the XL package, highest possible broadband connectivity and the landline phone - which is seldom used nowadays. Tonight, I phoned Virgin Media Customer Services to see if, as a loyal customer who has continually turned down offers to move elsewhere, I could look at bringing the cost down and even doing away with the Sky Movies package, since a Netflix  and Amazon Prime subscription more than covers our needs. The best the very uninterested customer adviser could do was to reduce the bill to £125 a month whereby we still lose the Sky Movie package. He was completely non-plussed when I expressed dissatisfaction and told him I would now be shopping around  to find a better supplier that suits my needs. He showed no interest in trying to look at better deals...so that's it.. I am off... sad to be leaving when I can get a better deal, but that's exactly what will be happening. Virgin Media takes its customers for granted!

Issues with TiVo box. And no support answering phone calls

Waiting ages in phone call from 9pm to 22:00 gave up waiting.   We're having TiVo faults etc no signals issues.    Tried all steps from soft reboot to a hard power off switch reboot etc. no luck after messing about an hour. it came back onto tv channels but no idea how long it will last.   Your online test shows there is a fault on our TiVo equipment.

Hi Nat,

Thanks for the response. To confirm, the V6 box is connected via an ethernet cable.

Since making the adjustments, the issue only now effects on demand content (Sky Cinema on demand) and the 4k content I watch on BT Sport Ultimate.

Same here a loyal customer for over 15 years, but it is very clear that VM's focus has moved away from great customer service & focusing on retaining core loyal customers and switched to a churn model focusing on new customers. It's a shame really, but looks like i'm off

I get switching business models to grow revenues, but the obvious and awful new customer service model of not answering the phone & when they do offering no help and being ignorant & not calling you back as promised being safe in the knowledge that a majority of customers will just give up is awful!!

Call 150 from your VM landline choose Tv faults option call as early as possible they open at 8am

Cheers so much for all that information Dave - I am sorry that you seem to be having an issue with the TiVo box.

Moving to another supplier is the only option you have and while I do understand your frustration it is the road you need to travel down. The only down side to this is your BB connection will drop significantly. The BB speed is VM main method of keeping existing customers on board so if you can live with the loss of speed BT or Sky will accommodate you to a new customer deal.Which might see you getting a significant saving for at least the first 12/18 months depending on contract length. Also be aware you need to give VM 30 days notice of contract cancellation and if your current contract has not run it’s course there could also be an early exit fee.Attempting to hold them to ransom as a long term customer holds no power today there are to many other alternative suppliers.
