Hi M9rk, thanks for getting in touch.

Sorry for the problem you've had logging in to the Sky Sports app using your VM credentials.

When this happens do you get any specific error message?

I understand you've deleted & reinstalled the app - can you also confirm that your device is up to date with the latest version of software as well?

Dont know how long you have been with VM. I have been with them for over 12 years and yes they do raise their prices when you add channel.

I hate to dispute this, but no they don’t. In line with all providers there is an annual increase every year. You do not get channels added & an immediate increase on your next bill, unless you physically add to or change your package yourself.

I have had cable services with Virgin & their predecessors for over 30 years & immediate increases to standard packs have NEVER happened.

Thanks for coming back to us,

Are you able to connect the box to a different TV to see if you're able to rule out the possibility of the TV being faulty?

Kindest regards,

We had no internet for 6 weeks starting in November 2019 I checked on line via app and it kept saying will be fixed by such a date but every time I checked it was a different day I rang a few times and again told dates that didn’t work .I then spoke to someone who gave me £30 to spend on films as a good will .He then said that my bill would be sorted when problem fixed as not only broadband effected but also on demand services .Im still waiting now been told it’s done automatically well it hasn’t .I ring and what do I get someone abroad who doesn’t understand English properly I’m fed up thinking of leaving

Not sure when you are calling but try first thing in the morning call 150 choose BB faults get them to give you the number of the complaints department or to transfer you through to it. Six weeks is way to long to be without your service and don’t let them use the loss of your BB to butter you up with £30 goodwill. By law they need to give you a confirmed date for your service to resume. And TBH I would not have put up with this length of loss of service. In my area we had a major break in the main underground cable about 2 years ago and we were back up and running in just over 24 hours. So unless you have had a massive earthquake in your area get back on the phone and don’t hang up till you get the information to take this further.

I have been having the same problem for a year.

Virgin must know what this code is. It's their code so should be in a list of codes and errors. I want to know what this is and how to fix it because I am sick of my viewing being interrupted.

And yes, re-booting doesn't help. And yes, checking cables doesn't help. And yes, nothing you do or try gets rid of the problem. And yes, calling the help line doesn't help. I have a feeling the connection from Virgin is so poor, it can't handle the simplest of streams.

Nearly done with it all. Might head over to Sky and see if that's any better if I don't get a decent answer and fix soon.

Still waiting on engineer

I have virgin installed nearly two weeks now.

The engineer installed everything in the living room on time. However they couldn't do the bedroom due to the health and safety issues with going into the floored attic. I paid someone to install the cable for me. Now just waiting for the engineer to call and install the box etc.

However, I was first told Monday, then they cancelled for Wednesday, cancelled Thursday and Friday also.

Why could he not have simply run the cable up the outside of your building saving you the extra expense of paying someone else to do it. Don’t be surprised if and when they do come back that they say the other cable run is not installed to there standard.

They told me they couldn't go into my attic to run wire from front of the house to the back of the house.

I phoned the engineers phone and they kept saying "tomorrow".

Paying for something that's not installed lol

Please excuse my asking, but are these arrangements you're making on an informal personal level with the individual engineers concerned? Or are they official appointments arranged via VM?

Advice on how to deal with repeat cancellations very much depends which scenario is in-play!

And to build on what japitts has asked - did the person you paid fit VM approved (identifiably marked) cable that the previous engineer may have left you?
If not, its unlikely that a different VM engineer will accept using it on any any connection s/he makes - as they would be held responsible for any "noise" issues that the cable may introduce into the network.
I know from my own (well my daughter's!) experience that "noise ingress" can and does happen on using 3d party cable !
