When I switch on my TV I get the message:

"Latest version is available for your TV (Version (04.71.00) Do you want to update now"

There is a YES or NO choice.

I don't know how to get to the YES NO choice with the TV remote?

Can anyone help please

Please can you arrange for someone to investigate this problem AGAIN and contact me as soon as possible. I refuse to call using the local call rate number as I feel that this will add even more expense to me and I do not have a landline telephone to call on 150.

I look forward to your response as soon as possible.

Regards

The 0345 4541111 number is a standard rate number. 03 numbers are charged exactly the same as any other call to 01 or 02 numbers and are included in bundled allowances in the same way. You are probably confused with expensive 084 & 087 numbers.

Short of making their CS an 0800 number (and I'm not sure that would be any great benefit vs the obvious cost), calling Virgin shouldn't incur any cost.

Have you read your TV’s manual to see which button you need to press on your TV’s own remote to answer this prompt?

Slow broadband and disgusting customer service as you said on hold forever and then if you get a reply they are not listening to the problem or because you never speak to someone in this Country! But surprise surprise if they want to sell you more packages for more money you get to speak to someone over here I have no problem with anyone but I do expect an experienced plain speaker!Im not daft just furious

Looks like this is now available. And it's also rather nice to see all the ITV boxsets are now in HD, it makes the drama sets actually worth watching....

Anyone using a pay TV provider must have a licence.

The only exception is Terrestrial Freeview, where you can use a TV with a  built-in Freeview tuner if you are only accessing the app content (excluding the iPlayer) for On Demand.

Ok thanks guys , but WHY ? as i said my tv is set on hdmi, the option live tv isnt used !

i don’t understand why though. Its a rip off if you ask me and should have the option to take bbc channels out if i want so. I dont watch bbc ever !

Just consider it a tax which you have to pay. Although it funds BBC, it’s not directly related to that.

I no longer have school age kids but would not get very far asking for a discount on my Council Tax because I no longer use the local schools.

You're still watching live TV, it's just coming through the Virgin box not the TV's tuner, the fact that the TV manufacturer has decided to call the input from its internal tuner "live TV" is completely irrelevant.

Well, to follow up on the above issue.

It is now 14th November. My media account has been a mess since media contract renewal carryon.

I've had a outstanding balance on my media since June. After asking advise about credit limit and media account. I was told that as long as media account balance did not go above limit then all should be fine. I cancelled direct debit as I did not want virgin taking the wrong amount out of bank account, so I've paid ecah month based on the credit limit advice but each time payment was late, services suspended I call virgin. Given advice, you can pay X amount to get your services back on, but you need to pay remainder by X time. No one ever stated it would affect my virgin credit level.

Then few ago I wanted an upgrade for my SIM only deal, 18months on a 12 month contract, every payment paid on time. I was declined for phone I want, form sent off to get credit raised, declined given reason virgin media account payment  history.

I have espoken to virgin mobile and media for hours, yesterday from 14:30 -22:00, few hours on Monday also.

Run around.

Having wasted hours on phone and text service. Virgin media retentions today advised me that they cannot do anything about misadvise in the past as they cannot see who I spoke to, nor is there any notes on my account stating my unhappiness about my srvices recieved, nor can they pull telephone convos as they are only for training staff and only some calls are recorded.

So retentions apologised and said they can't nresolve the matter. Only thing they can do is make complaint and internally deal with situaion. I have been asked to contact creditfileamendments@virginmedia.co.uk. to explain and get them to raise my credit status. But how on earth are they gonna verify anything if they cannot pull calls, read my notes on my account that have not been made when explicitly asked to.

Absolute joke off a customer service. Previously I was told to always call retentions due to my past experiences with customer services.

I have today cancelled my mobile contract, 30days notice, got my package code and  I have spoken to ee, I will receive SIM only deal in three days, £21 20gb unl mins and texts. UK call centres.

When my virgin media contract expires in may 2019, that will be cancelled also.

Never ever ever do I want to be with virgin again. Your customer service is all over the place. Still to this day.

So guys read all above and don't expect calls to be pulled to listen, not expect notes to be put on your account and do not expect to get what they say your getting, check you contract. Take notes, names of advisors, times as virgin won't. And when it's time to complain and prove your not to blame they will say they can't help with past misadvise, wrong contracts, advisors hanging up, telling you lies, etc etc the list is endless.

So be warned, virgin TV is great, virgin mobile is great, BUT VIRGIN CUSTOMER CARE IS OUT OF CONTROL. TOTAL LIABILITY TO MR BRANSONS COMPANY.

YET ANOTHER CUSTOMER IS LEAVING NOT DUE TO POOR MEDIA OROBILE SERVICE BUT BECAUSE CUSTOMER SERVICE DONT KNOW WHAT LEFT ARM OR RIGHT ARM ARE DOING.

18 GOD DAMN MONTHS OF PAYMENTS TO VIRGIN MOBILE. CONSTATLY IN COMMUNICATION AND THIS IS HOW IT ENDS.

VIRGIN YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED.

EE HERE I COME.

Have you just come on a help forum to raise a pointless argument to a question you know the answer to, don't waste people's valuable time

I agree Customer service has gone woeful and is now very poor.  When i have rang in the past I have always got through a local agent now it seems I always get through to India.  Nothing against the Indian call centres, in fact they have often been clued up but it seems Virgin have got the worst English speakers they can find and most definitely the rudest one guy even put the phone down on me after I challenged him on why he kept giving me the wrong information and not understanding what my reason for calling was.  He also refused to put me through to a manager or team leader so I could explain to them what the reason for my call was.

I also will shortly be ending my contract with Virgin as the 12 month discount on phone lines has ended and I am having to pay a small fortune to have a phone line and call when a Mobile account with unlimited calls and texts will cost a quarter of what Virgin are wanting me to pay

Live TV and how you watch it - TV Licensing

The BBC , ITV , etc you view on VM box are the same channels you view through your Tv aerial the only way you can avoid a Tv licence fee is if you never watch a Live Tv broadcast from any UK Tv suppliers and I would defy anyone to say they have never watched Live Tv of any kind so like the rest of us pay up accept it as a stealth tax like every other one in the UK so far the only thing not taxed is fresh air and if they could figure out how to pull that off they would.
