I have been a loyal Virgin customer for a good number of years. I pay a lot of money for Virgin media each month, and have a full package, which includes the Sky Movies package. So, can you imagine my increased annoyance at this Virgin Store business that is taking over your service?
As a sales and marketing professional, I am no idiot when it comes to generating business. I find it unethical that you have slowly and cleverly introduced Virgin Store as a way to hold all the best older films for a ridiculous price, probably more than buying them on dvd, even though I signed up for a full subscription service for films.
When you advertise your new films, you only mention they are available on Virgin Store, even though they are available through the normal route, but you don’t want your customers to know that do you? You want them to think it’s only available on Virgin Store so they pay more for it for no good reason. Completely unethical and misleading. is this actually allowed?
I have just tried to book Charlie and the Chocolate Family with my daughter, and it’s only available on Virgin Store, surprise, surprise for nearly £11!! Are you having a laugh? How on earth can you justify this? We watched it on Netflix instead.
Virgin also, obviously, has arrangements with Sky to ensure that some films are not available as part as the subscription package so it forces customers to pay ridiculous amounts for films that have been released for years on the Store. You must be having a good laugh at your customers and rubbing your hands together.
This is not the service I signed up for and pay a lot of money for. I am sick and tired of trying to book an old film for it to be only available on Virgin Stores. Even BBC box sets are sometimes only on Virgin Stores, what am I paying a TV licence for?
I am not stupid, I can see exactly what is happening, pulling the wool over customers eyes to charge extortionate amounts for old films, money for old rope. I want value for money not feeling like I am being ripped off.
So Virgin Media - I dread to think what your long term strategy is with your TV services but I would like this nonesense to stop and start giving your customers the service and value they deserve.
Thank you.
