Can confirm problem of sound stuttering returned here in Hamilton on VM during HIGNFY at 9 tonight and is ongoing.

Thanks for confirming, please see my link to be used for sending complaints to the BBC considering it occurs on the BBC1 Scotland HD CHANNEL 101 only, different channel number for freesat users. 

Please complain to Freeview too!

Thanks, I called and spoke to them the last time, unsure if the fault lies with the BBC or not though, Freeview should be looking into this more I'd say.

Freeview have informed me that they have let their H. O know that the issue has returned.

Hi there,

 

We're sorry to hear that this issue seems to have returned. We have raised this internally and would be grateful if Virgin Media customers could provide the following info to help with our investigations:

  • Make of TV
  • Virgin Media box (e.g V+HD, TiVo, V6)
  • How the box is connected to the TV (e.g HDMI or SCART)
  • Is the box connected directly to the TV?
  • Do you use an external audio device such as surround sound or soundbar, and if so is this connect to the Virgin Media box or the TV?
  • Audio setting (e.g Dolby, PCM). You can find this in Help & Settings > Settings > Audio

Welcome to our Forum and thanks so much for your first post - sorry that you seem to be having some issues with your TV picture quality at the moment. 

 

Is this happening on all channels? Do you find it only happens on Live TV or are you seeing the issue on your recordings and via the Catch-Up/OnDemand too? 

 

Have you been able to check for any  known area issues using your postcode or online account information on our services status checker here

 

If no issues are showing, you can then go through your online account and go through any self checks too. As  has advised, a reboot can also assist and please ensure all your cables are nice and secure 🙂 

 

Please do not hesitate to pop back if you need any further assistance 🙂

It's affecting BBC1 SCOTLAND HD CH101 via VM, BT, FREESAT and SKY. but of course the channel number may be different on Freesat and SKY.

Can I please confirm if you've attempted a reboot of your Tivo box and Hub?

Hi there

 

We do still have Live Chat services available via our Contact Us pages - they are available for certain lines of business between Monday -Saturday 8am - 8pm 🙂 

 

Once you go through some basic questions, if an agent is available, a Chat Box will load up for you. 

 

I've just gone through a few of the pages and all was working for me and a chat box loaded. I went through the Upgrades section with no issues 🙂

Thankyou for asking us for so much information. Surely this isn’t really required because the issue was solved without it last time??

However, I have had a VM engineer out to my house and we have eliminated every possible hardware issue within the house including changing the tv, the connections a new v6 box(upgrade from tivo box) with and without soundbar. It is signal related surely? It shouldn’t matter how we as customers choose to view or hear the signal that you provide to us. Every customer will have a different set up - with so many variables it cannot be pinpointed. The only consistency is the issue and not our equipment.

As @Hollybobs1 as explained this is a regional transmitter signal issue and not related to any particular set-up. 

This issue now requires to be raised to the highest level! 

Upgrade TV Package

I have just tried to upgrade my tv package to watch the rugby today, everything went smooth and i even got an email saying that the upgrade was done with no further instructions, i i have a look online and notice this 1 hour waiting time kept popping up so i waited 1 hour then restarted my TIVO box and still nothing i go into my virgin account and i have to re apply for the package upgrade so i have done that and followed some guide for missing channels etc still nothing,  i have tried ringing but it keeps telling me i can solve this problem with guides online (YAWN) can anyone help me with this issue as the game is gonna start soon and the customer service so far is not what i expected ( as in none)
