new contract

Two days ago I phoned to cancel all my virgin services after the latest price increase,, the nice young lady told me that if I wanted to keep just the broadband part it would be approx. £32 a month...but if I would sign up for a new 12 month contract I could keep all of my sevices for £34 a month for 6 months then £38 for the next 6 months.. I was told all the services would stay exactly as they were... this morning I turned the tv on to discover that I had lost a few channels... when I phoned virgin to ask what was going on I was told that if I wanted the channels I had before it would be approx. another £4 or so for 6 months. then an increase after 6 months..was I asked why I was told that everything would remain the same why is it now more expensive ?.... it would appear that to keep everything the same now costs more !!.. I was given a £20 goodwill credit on my bil for " misselling ".. that alone makes me think !!!
